I grew up in Munich, Germany as a late baby boomer and the eldest of
two younger sisters. The general mind-set at that time prescribed that
one needed to work hard, think hard and feel hard to achieve success in
life. Early on in my life, I took everything very serious, wanted to
live up to the expectation of my parents and worked very hard. In my
late teens, my independent spirit had me move abroad to England, where
I threw myself into a male dominated career path in sales and
marketing. Working hard, thinking hard, feeling hard did get me to
become a successful entrepreneur over the next 22 years. My Outer
Reality had everything that one would wish for; success, a great
career, financial freedom, yet my Inner Reality looked very different.
I felt trapped, exhausted, powerless, purposeless and unfulfilled. I
had to ask myself: How can I live my life in balance? How can I feel
alive again? What does real freedom really mean to me? So, contrary to
everyone’s advice I broke free….I went on my search for
purpose and self-knowledge.
I came to New York City in 2001 and worked as a Marketing Director for
a few years whilst re-inventing myself in the holistic field. In 2003,
I graduated as a wellness educator in a holistic study; in 2005 I was
accredited as a Certified Life Coach by the International Coach
Federation (ICF). The ICF is committed to credibility and permanence of
the Coaching Profession through establishing credentialing standards of
coaches and training programs and providing a code of professional
ethics. I was a Director of the ICF NYC-Chapter from 2005 to 2007. The
International Coach Federation is the largest not-for-profit
organization for coaches worldwide.
I founded my company, Dreams Into Actions, in 2005 in New York City
serving others to live purposeful and fulfilling lives. I had
discovered my purpose in life and felt a calling to support others in
reaching their dreams and I believe that the key to living our dreams
lies 'within' everyone. My coaching is based on self-knowledge,
combined with our ability to envision and believe in our dreams with an
overall commitment to be the best we can possibly be.
I got married for the first time at age 53 in 2011. Right now, I feel
that my life is whole and complete, as I have learnt the tools to help
me to turn my challenges into opportunities.
